Post Harvesting System :
IHG builds processing units near production sites and fields, in order to process harvests quickly. Within maximal 3 hours after harvesting fresh plant material enters one of our processing facilities.
Post-harvest-processing :
1) washing : plant material will be washed shortly to wash of dirt and earth;
2) segregation of fresh material : leaves are seperated from stems;
3) withering : plant material is allowed to wither for approx. one hour;
4) drying : plant material is dried in passive solar greenhouse dryers;
5) segregation of dried material : removal of foreign plant parts / matters;
Drying :
Environmently friendly Passive Solar Greenhouse Dryers are used for drying. 100% electricity driven Cabinet Dryers are additionaly used during the rainy season.
Our post-harvest-processing results in a product that is clean and dry, homogeneous, aromatic, well conserved and long lasting in stock.
